DOLL E/TEST E electric kiln equipped with 3K-CF electronic controller 120 volt

Inside dimensions: Oval - 11.25" wide x 7" front-to-back x 9" high, .3 cu. ft., fires to cone 10/2350°F

Two names for one kiln? Initially the Doll E was a primary kiln purchase for artists making dolls and later became a hot ticket item for labs, universities testing glaze, tiles, etc. because of the oval design. Olympic kept both names for the model so that customers who purchase the model for either reason would recognize it if they needed future purchases or parts. 

120 volt models come equipped with pilot light, metal stand, stainless steel jacket, and Bartlett 3K-CF electronic controller.  Data is entered by scrolling through the up and down arrows for the desired cone fire or ramp/hold programming.

Options include upgrading to the Genesis touchscreen controller or the 12 key digital Bartlett V6-CF controller for more ramp-hold user programs and multiple features including delay start, preheat, cone offset, skip step and many more for precise firings every time.  Messages and Information are available for reviewing a firing profile before or during the firing, viewing the current segment the firing is in, and cone table for easy look up of temperature and cone number equivalents.  Other options available are a blank or bead collar, kiln vent and much more! 

Solid State Relay

A Solid State Relay is hands down the best investment you can make in your kiln!

The relay is what controls the power cycling of the elements in the kiln and they need to be able to withstand a ton of power as they do so. The solid state relays are incredibly efficient compared to the standard mechanical relays and are able to operate at much faster speeds. What this equates to is incredibly tight temperature control for accurate firings, longer element life, and savings on your electrical bill!

The standard mechanical relays have moving parts which cause wear and tear over the years and will eventually need to be replaced; however with a solid state relay it's likely to last the entire life of the kiln! You will save money and time by never needing to worry about this in the future!

The Genesis is a touch screen option which has extended functionality over traditional button controllers!Genesis Controller

The Genesis has the ability to store up to 12 different programs - with up to 32 segments per program each! You'll have no trouble adding segments, skipping, or adding temperature along the way.

This is a great choice for a controller if you want the features of a smart controller, but want the ease of straightforward programming and use.

KilnStar by Bartlett Instruments

With an intuitive keypad and versatile features, the Bartlett KilnStar Controller allows operators to create up to 6 custom firing programs, each with up to 8 segments, or combine them for 16-segment programs for more complex firings!

Need to adjust on-the-go? The KilnStar makes it easy to add time, skip segments, or adjust the final temperature mid-firing. Preheat is a breeze too, with the option to hold the kiln at 200°F for drying ware before moving into the firing cycle.

Stand with caster wheels

The standard order of this kiln comes with a stationary stand built to handle the weight, heat, and shape of the kiln. While this works perfectly fine, attempting to move your kiln can be a difficult maneuver and could result in a damaged stand, or worse - a broken kiln!

Ordering a stand with caster wheels ensures the whole process of moving your kiln for any reason is a smooth and simple process.

No longer worry about if you're running out of room within your garage - you can tuck your kiln away in a corner when it's not in use! And of course - if you're one for moving the kiln around the studio or other rooms, this is essentially a necessity.

When ordered with a vent system - make sure to detach first before moving the kiln.

    Olympic warranty highlights

    • Two years on most kilns; one year on cone 10 kilns and on kilns equipped with a Kiln Sitter and safety timer.
    • Thermocouples and kiln furniture are not covered.
    • Register your kiln online with Olympic after purchase.
    • Contact Soul Ceramics first. If the issue is not resolved, notify Olympic in writing with the date, place and proof of purchase.
    • You ship the parts Olympic requests at your cost; Olympic repairs, replaces or refunds within 30 days and ships back at its cost. You reinstall the parts yourself.
    • Not covered: overfiring, exceeding the cone or temperature rating, reduction or salt firing, improper installation or voltage, and altered kilns.

    Extended warranty (Clyde)

    • Optional extended protection from Clyde can be added to eligible products at checkout, on top of the manufacturer's warranty.
    • Clyde plans cover the core product only. Add-on options such as controllers, furniture kits, stands, blade fixtures and vents are not included.
    • Claims under a Clyde plan are filed with Clyde, not with the manufacturer. Keep your Clyde confirmation email with your order confirmation.

    I got the Olympic Kiln from Soul ceramic and I love my kiln so much it’s small but it’s mighty! I have done a few loads already and I love it very muchhhh! Before I buy the kiln I had chats with the team and I told them how small of the space I have and what cone for my works & then they’re recommended the Olympic doll-e kiln! And they’re always help me out with the questions I have (im new to pottery) also I got my kiln so fast I think in 3 days. Will do the business with Soul ceramic again!

    Amazing Kiln

    Couldn’t ask for a better starter kiln! It is super easy to use and it shipped in TWO days:) (although I had to change to the in stock version which is more expensive). I’ve fired about 5 bisque and 5 glaze batches so far and it’s been amazing. I can fit about 8-12 smaller cups/bowls in a bisque firing and about 4-6 items for glaze! Fires cone 6 glazes perfectly!

    My mother helped me purchase my first kiln for my at home studio. First of all I cannot say enough about this business/company and their customer support/service, they are amazing! So it started off as a surprise but quickly turned into a group effort in purchasing this kiln. We quickly realized the original kiln that my mom had ordered, did not reach the temperatures I needed and the shipping was much longer than expected. Luckily the company offered to swap out the kiln and with a discount to something that was currently in stock and would be a fraction of the time to ship. She ordered/swapped the kiln a second time but realized at that point she was going to include me to ensure I was gonna receive the kiln I really wanted. The people were so patient with my mother, with me and with us both on the phone, multiple phone calls! Every time they were so helpful, patient and very informative. We went over every option and all while educating my mother about each product and every function. Their hours of availability is perfect and have been so helpful with any questions I have. So in the end we ordered the Olympic Kiln - Doll E because it was ready to go, literally with shipping it and firing it apon arrival if I wanted to because of it having an ordinary house outlet as the power source. We ordered it Thursday evening and it arrived that Saturday afternoon, so fast! The inner brick of the kiln near the hinge was damaged during shipping but did not effect the heating of the kiln. It came with kiln wash and my first fire was successful in seasoning it, can’t wait to firer some pieces in it soon! Love love love this kiln! So easy to use, cute in size, able to lift it myself, loading will be easy, regular electric cord, comes with kiln stand and wash. Oh and don’t forget amazing customer service!

    First kiln runs beautifully in my little apartment

    Soul Ceramics consulted with me on the best kiln for my firing needs that could run on 120v. They advised the Olympic Doll E and it works perfectly on the back porch of my little apartment.

    I purchased the in-stock version of the kiln on 21DEC and it was in my home by 24DEC. That’s like unheard of in COVID times and during the holiday.

    I’m so glad I decided to get the genesis controller. I was initially pretty intimidated to use it, but after reviewing the controller manual and watching the youtube videos, it kind of seemed fool-proof. At the time of writing this, I’ve done a test fire, 3 bisque to cone 04, and a bisque to Cone 5. I’ve been using the preloaded programs and I love that they have slow and med/slow options preloaded. I love the graphs and tables… if you eventually want to do custom programming the preloads are a great starting point that can be modified to your liking. For my glaze fires I know I will need a controlled cool, and I already know how to program that.

    Another great part about the genesis is that it comes with an app. It was so simple to connect my kiln to my wifi and then follow along with the firing on my phone. I also love that you can add the cost per kwh in your area and then the genesis will give you the cost of each firing. Honestly, it’s a dream.

    Special thanks to the Soul Ceramics team for being a resource through this entire process. So many people checked in with me to five me tips on receiving my kiln and to see how it was going after it had been with me for a few days.
