Cress Glass Kiln - GK3
Product Description
Cress GK Series Kilns: The Cress GK Series is a multitasking powerhouse—perfect for artists who work across a wide range of materials and techniques. These versatile kilns are highly regarded for their ability to handle glass fusing, slumping, raking, vitrograph, enameling, low-fire ceramics, and even Raku firing with ease. Their quick temperature recovery and high performance make them ideal for demanding studio environments.
All GK models are top-loading and built with thick firebrick walls for excellent insulation, paired with durable steel exteriors to withstand repeated high-temperature firings up to Cone 10 (2350°F / 1288°C). Despite their compact footprint, these kilns offer generous internal volume, allowing for flexibility whether you're producing large pieces or batching multiple smaller works.
Standard Features:
- Steel Base Plate: Reinforces structural integrity and safety.
- Tapered Peepholes & Plugs: Designed for optimal viewing and minimal heat loss.
- Pinned Elements & Precision Grooves: High-grade, long-lasting elements are securely pinned close to the firing chamber for efficient radiant heat and extended life.
- Reinforced Mechanical Design: A fixed steel hinge and robust lid brace ensure reliable operation, while rigid back braces add structural longevity.
- Welded Steel Stand: Pre-assembled and ultra-sturdy, providing rock-solid support right out of the box.
Whether you're crafting fine jewelry or running a mixed-media art studio, the Cress GK Series offers unmatched versatility, durability, and performance across all models.

Furniture Kit
Furniture Kits are necessary accessories for any kiln owner as firing directly on the kiln floor is not only bad for the kiln, but your pieces as well. In addition to this, they're also useful! A furniture kit will allow you to stack multiple shelves on top of one another in order to maximize the useable space when firing smaller pieces.
If you have one that will fit this kiln size already, then you're in luck! But if not, you'll want to ensure you add this to your order as well.
Kiln furniture can be special ordered separately, but if done so the cost is ~10-20% higher and will incur a separate shipping charge. It's best to include this on your initial order of the kiln.
* Received shelves may contain surface imperfections such as scratches, discoloration or rough edge. These possible imperfections are understood and accepted by the buyer.

Warranty
Cress warranty highlights
- Three years from the date of purchase on the kiln, covering defects in materials and workmanship.
- Elements: one replacement set is covered within the three years, never a second.
- Overfiring is never covered, whatever the cause. Reduction or salt firing voids the warranty.
- Contact Soul Ceramics first; otherwise call Cress for a return authorization before shipping any part.
- You pay shipping to Cress; Cress pays shipping back when the defect is confirmed.
- No registration required. Keep your proof of purchase.
Extended warranty (Clyde)
- Optional extended protection from Clyde can be added to eligible products at checkout, on top of the manufacturer's warranty.
- Clyde plans cover the core product only. Add-on options such as controllers, furniture kits, stands, blade fixtures and vents are not included.
- Claims under a Clyde plan are filed with Clyde, not with the manufacturer. Keep your Clyde confirmation email with your order confirmation.
In every case
- Keep your order confirmation. It is your proof of purchase date and every manufacturer asks for it.
- Report a problem as soon as you notice it. Several manufacturers require notice within 10 to 15 days of discovering a defect.
- Contact Soul Ceramics first. We are the authorized dealer for everything we sell and we coordinate claims with the manufacturer on your behalf.
